Reconciliation Celebration When people receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation/Penance they confess their sins to the priest.
The Symbols of Reconciliation Keys - The keys are usually crossed in an "X" shape, the two keys represents the reconciliation between God and us. Raised Hand - After the person has confessed their sins, the priest gives them a blessing while he lays his right hand on the persons head. Stole - When the priest listens to confessions, he wears a purple stole which means repentance and sorrow. Scourging Whip - A Scourge was a whip that was used as a punishment on Jesus, all of his bruises then healed. This means that we can heal from the bad times. Cross - The priest makes The Sign of the Cross before he listens to the person's sins.

Anointing of the Sick Celebration A person receives the Sacrament Anointing of the Sick when they are about to die from sickness or old age.
The Symbols of The Anointing of the Sick Candles - The candles are lit when the priest arrives, the light welcomes Christ to the moment. Stole - The priest or bishop wears a stole when Anointing the person. Chalice - The chalice represents suffering and the person takes a sip from it. Olive Branch - The branch is usually seen being carried by a dove, this was seen when the dove came back to Noah's ark. The olive branch brings comfort peace. Oil Stock - Olive oil is used to anoint the person, it represents Jesus' healing grace.
